15 BEST/SWEETEST COMBO FOODS I’VE TRIED
Are you a foodie? Yes? No? Well I am, to an extent, lol! but I also know that there are times I’m disciplined with what I eat especially when I’m trying to lose some weight.

I don’t think I’ve been quite creative with food, but I’ll like to be!! So most of the combo foods I’ll list here were inspired by hunger!! You know like when you haven’t eaten all day because you were busy all through or because you were trying to starve to lose weight but your flesh was too weak for it, and boom you give up, and wann eat anything you got at home at that moment!! Yeah, that’s it!
Without much ado, let me share with you guys the sweetest/best food combo I’ve tried, and enjoyed!
1. BEANS PORRIDGE AND FRIED PLANTAIN
So when it comes to beans, I hate when it’s dry, and looking like yam I have to cut. I like a little water in my beans—hence beans porridge. So even if I make my beans with sliced plantains in it, I’ll still fry some and eat with it. This is so nice, guys!!
2. COCONUT AND BREAD
I can’t remember the first time I tried this, but this is heaven on earth!! I probably must have had coconut and bread in our house, and I tried them out. You know, take a bite on the bread, and another on the coconut, and chew together.
3. CUCUMBER AND FRIED PEANUTS
When I say peanuts, I mean groundnuts—as Nigerians call it! My man thinks it’s weird that I eat this, but besides the fact that I eat this as part of my diet, it’s really delicious, and healthy too!!
4. AKARA(BEANS CAKE) AND BREAD
Guys, make sure the akara is hot! I find cold akara choking. Just slice the bread, and put the akara in between, then SQUEEZE and eat!!
5. YAM AND EGG SAUCE
I love yam so much, and this is kinda one of my favorite foods.
6. ICE CREAM AND BURGER PEANUTS
I started this combo in high school with Mr. Biggs ice cream. My mum always visited me with a big plate of their ice cream, a pack of burger peanuts, and some other snacks. I think someday, I just emptied the burger peanuts into the ice cream, and I used a spoon to scoop and eat. It was mmmmh!!
7. MC VITIE’S DIGESTIVE WHEAT BISCUIT AND A LOW FAT MARGARINE
I love eating my biscuits with margarine anyway—as long as it’s not a cream biscuit nor sugar-coated biscuit. Besides blue band margarine, I have another margarine brand I can’t remember right now. Yes, it’s really nice! Also Yale Cabin biscuits with blue band margarine is yummy!!
8. GARDEN EGGS AND PEANUT BUTTER
With the way I’ve mentioned peanuts here, it’s so obvious how much I love them. Lol! This is a popular snack with Igbo people! They value it so much, and I think during occasions in my house, it was always available, and that’s how I got to love it.
Ps, the particular peanut butter we eat this with is not the American peanut butter. This one has pepper in it, and that’s one of the reasons I love it.
9. ROASTED YAM/PLANTAIN AND PALM OIL/PEPPER SAUCE
As a child, my mum made roasted yam and pepper sauce for her brothers—which are my uncles, on some weekends when she’s not working, and she always gave me some. I think that was one of their favorite breakfast foods, and their mum introduced it to them or something like that. That’s how I loved it! When I got into the uni, my friends introduced me to roasted plantain—they call it Bole, and pepper sauce. I don’t need to tell you guys how this tastes!
Try it for yourself 🥰
10. WHITE RICE AND OFEAKWU(BANGA SOUP)
This should have topped the list. I am so obsessed with this food!! The soup is made from palm nut juice, and it’s quite delicious. I can decide not to eat rice for the rest of my life, but not when this food still exists!
11. BREAD, FRIED EGGS, AND HOT BEVERAGE
When I say beverage, I mean coffee, or chocolate and milk in hot water, but I prefer the latter. This is indeed my ideal breakfast. Bread and a low fat butter spread will be great too.
12. GUINNESS MALT AND LIQUID PEAK MILK WITH MEAT-PIE OR CHICKEN PIE
I was told this is an energy boost. I have no idea how true that is, but I do love taking this drink with meat-pie or chicken-pie.
13. COKE AND POWDERED MILK
It's crazy I tried this experiment as a child simply because I was curious! I can't remember the last time I had it though, but it was nice.
14. FRIED YAM AND PEPPER SAUCE
You ever been to a restaurant and ordered this? If no, you should.
15. COLD STONE ICE CREAM(FOUNDER'S FAVORITE)
This is my favorite ice cream, and it was introduced to me by a friend. I think it's equally her favorite. We went to a coldstone outlet, and she suggested it for me. I tried it and I loved it. It's a mixture of sweet cream, pecans, brownie, fudge, and caramel. I also enjoy watching them mix everything together. This is about #2, 500 for a medium size cup.
So guys, here are my 15 sweetest combo foods. Have you tried any of these? Also share your favorite combo food with me! I may just try them out.
